Cherry Capital Bass Anglers and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Michigan held their 27th kids outing.  A steady rain greeted the 23 kids and two big Brothers as they met at Spider Lake in Traverse City, MI.   After being paired with the 20 boaters, the junior anglers proceeded to spend 3 hours plying the waters for bass, pike and assorted panfish.  Despite the wet weather, fishing was good, and all the young anglers had a great time.

Tyler B came in first with 5 fish weighing 7.93.  Alec R took second place with 6.50 in 5 fish.  Dominic A brought up third with 3 fish totaling 4.46.  Big fish was also taken by Tyler B, a northern pike weighing in at 2.68.  Gary Swaney and his staff from BBBS did their usual great job of getting the kids signed up and to the lake on time.

After the outing we retired to Peegeo’s Restaurant,  A special thanks to George and his staff for the pizzas and giving us a Banquet hall out of the rain.  Mike Beach from Gander Mountain also helped us out with tackle for the kids.

We would also like to thank all the CCBA club members, and other local anglers who donated their time and boats to make this a special day for the kids. And mostly we want give a very special thanks to the kids from BBBS for letting us be a part of their day.
